Thousands lined Rutland streets Saturday to watch the fourth annual Vaisakhi Parade.
Vaisakhi, one of the most significant holidays in the Sikh calendar, commemorates the establishment of the Order of the Khalsa. It’s also the ancient harvest festival in the Punjab region, which marks the beginning of a new year.
The parade featured several floats and a walking procession, while food was served all day at the Okanagan Sikh Temple.
