An anonymous donor is offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who locates missing person Olimpia Mikszan of Abbotsford or provides vital information leading to her being located.

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) made the announcement on Monday,  saying they would like to thank the individual for his or her “generosity and commitment” to the city.

The 20th anniversary of Mikszan’s disappearance occurred on June 21 of this year, when her mom, Elzbieta, made a public plea for information.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the appeal has not generated the tips that the APD had hoped for.

Mikszan, then 18, was last seen on the morning of June 21, 1996, when she was spotted with a male acquaintance outside her home in central Abbotsford.

She was reported missing the following day after some friends went to the basement suite where she lived and couldn’t track her down.

Police issued a press release at the time, asking for the public’s help in trying to locate Mikszan, but none of the tips they received led to her location.

She is described as 5’ 2” with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
