A man from the Lower Mainland died in a motorcycle collision on Highway 24

Impairment, erratic driving or road conditions don't appear to have contributed

A man from the Lower Mainland area died yesterday in a motorcycle collision near Hillcrest Road on Highway 24, about 42 km east of 100 Mile House.

Cpl. Mike Halskov said in an email response that the call came in at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

“It was determined that the rider of the motorcycle, a man from the Lower Mainland area and described as an experienced rider, was travelling east when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and left the roadway. The man died at the scene from the injuries he sustained.”

100 Mile House RCMP, the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Traffic Services, the BC Ambulance Service, BC Coroners’ Service and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service all attended the scene.

The incident was also witnessed.

At this point in the investigation, impairment, erratic driving or road conditions don’t appear to have contributed.

This investigation is ongoing and anybody with relevant information that has not yet spoken to police are asked to phone the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Traffic Services, in 100 Mile House, at 250-395-2456.
