Lit Photo/Video is a new photography, videography service based in Creston. Started in 2018 and operated by Creston Valley resident Dennis Charles, Lit Photo/Video is on a mission to capture the most striking images and video from a variety of subjects to showcase the beauty of everything in the Kootenays.

Charles, having lived in Creston for the last 4 years after growing up in Northern Alberta, was struck by the beauty of the Creston Valley and surrounding area. Originally getting into photography as a hobby in 2015, it quickly grew into a passion.

Charles states “I got into it because this area is simply amazing and I wanted to relive the things I saw on my hikes after I got home to share with my friends and family. The art of photography has led me to places I would never go normally. I went to Brier Island, Nova Scotia to photograph seals, climbed on the ice of the Fort Saskatchewan river in Edmonton to get a photo of a beautiful bridge (a photo that was a ribbon winner for architecture at a photography competition in BC) and I once snowshoed up a peak at Stagleap Provincial Park by myself at night to take photos of a meteor shower. The entire process is very fun for me: Getting inspired, planning the shots, preparing the gear, getting out to location, taking the images, post-processing work on the computer and lastly printing the image to share it. I have a blast doing all of it and I like to think that it’s evident in the final product.”

Services include commercial storefront photography, product/produce/food photography, real estate photography, event photography, commercial videography and fine art printing of an ever-expanding portfolio.
