The beautiful rose gardens in front of Abbeyfield House bloom every spring, and make the community that much more special for both residents and visitors.
The gardens, however, need a little help every year to continue blooming.
Started as a Communities in Bloom initiative, Penny Shapperd has continued to tidy and fertilize the gardens every year. But she needs a bit of help.
Volunteers are needed for two or three spring gardening sessions, the first of which will be Wednesday May 1 in the afternoon.
No gardening experience in needed, Shapperd will help you get started. If you have any gardening tools, please bring them. But if not, some extras will be on site.
If you would like to donate some time to help keep these gardens alive, you can contact Shapperd at 250-344-5714, or truvalue@redshift.bc.ca.
