Airshow fans were thrilled to watch the CF-18 Hornet fire against the backdrop of Mt. Baker in the dusk Friday at the first Twilight Abbotsford Airshow.

The Abbotsford International Airshow brought something new to the Fraser Valley with its first Twilight Show of spectacular evening entertainment on Friday. There were still fan favourites such as the CF Skyhawks parachute team, the T-6C Harvard II and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds along with a jet powered doghouse and jet school bus.

But as the sun descended in the Valley, the CF-18 Hornet put on a hair-raising demonstration against the backdrop of Mt. Baker, Matt Younkin lit up the sky with his Beech 18 and Team Rocket added to the night show. Fireworks on the tarmac ended the evening.

The airshow continues  today and Sunday for daytime performances. Gates open at 9 a.m. and flying begins at 10:30 a.m.
