An Abbotsford man who posed as a 19-year-old and targeted 15-year-old girls for sex in 2015 has received a six-month jail term to be followed by 18 months of probation.
Jeremy Michael Roth, 27, was sentenced last Friday in Abbotsford provincial court on a charge of luring a child under the age of 16. A charge of possession of child pornography was stayed.

He pleaded guilty to the charge last August.
Roth was arrested and charged in February 2016 after police received a tip in December 2015 that a man from Abbotsford was participating in questionable activity.
A detective from the Abbotsford Police Department’s major crime unit then posted online as a 15-year-old girl and communicated with Roth, then 23, requesting that they meet for sex.
The investigation took several weeks, and Roth was arrested at the pre-arranged meeting spot in a local park.
Police at the time said that no actual victims had come forward or been identified.
