The Abbotsford News is proud to publish ‘101 Things to See and Do in Abbotsford.’
Whether you’re a longtime resident or someone who is brand new in town, there’s something in these 40 pages for you.
Abbotsford has long been known as A City in the Country, affording residents a little bit of country but with big city comforts. Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, our city offers towering mountain views, beautiful forests and sparkling rivers, and many of our 101 things are get-outside suggestions. There’s no better place to find amazing trails to hike, many located within the city’s core and many found in the surrounding mountains and dykes — the options are endless.
We celebrate our past here in Abbotsford, and what a colourful and amazing history we have. From the company town known as Clayburn Village, to the Trethewey House Heritage Site and the Gur Sikh Temple National Historic Site, Abbotsford recognizes and honours the past. And don’t forget to visit the Mennonite Heritage Museum as well.
When it comes to agriculture, it may be clichéd, but our roots run deep. We are the heart of the province’s agricultural economy and Abbotsford allows visitors to get up close and personal with a variety of different locally grown products and animals.
Under the category ‘things you may not have known about,’ were you aware Abbotsford is home to some of the best and varied dining experiences in the Fraser Valley. Whether you want pizza, south asian-style cuisine or homestyle cooking there’s something to suit everyone.
If it’s coffee you want, Abbotsford has several cafes and if it’s craft beer you’re looking for, Abbotsford has been ranked the #6 Best Beer Town in Canada by Expedia.ca. Or perhaps you prefer a bit of the grape. Our city is home to four amazing vineyards and their wines are gaining national attention.
