While most people look forward to the Christmas season, for those who’ve fallen on hard times it can be the most difficult season of the year.
Abbotsford police are attempting to get a man some help after he was arrested on Dec. 16 in connection with two thefts from South Fraser Way’s Liquor Barn. On Dec. 13 and Dec. 14, the man walked into the store and grabbed two bottles of whiskey and walked out.
A staff sergeant recognized the man’s clothing he wore on both occasions from the store’s CCTV footage – he still hadn’t changed.
The man explained to the staff sergeant that he was going through a difficult time, said Sgt. Judy Bird, media officer for the Abbotsford Police Department.
“He didn’t run, he’s just struggling with life so we’re going to try and get him some help.” Bird said. “He’s getting help.”
