Abbotsford’s Field House Brewing has been named the year’s best brewery in the Growler’s B.C. 2019 Beer Readers’ Choice Awards.
The awards, also known as the Growlies, are selected by the public after 25 beer judges, writers, industry insiders and other experts narrow the selection down to 10 nominees in each of the award categories.
Field House Brewing didn’t just take the top prize – it came home with a total of nine first place wins, three silvers and a single bronze.
The popular local brewery was awarded gold for: Best Dark Lager for its Toasted Coconut Black Lager, Best Fruit Beer for its Dark Blackberry and Blueberry Sour, Best Low-Alcohol Beer for its Sour Wheat Gose, Best Tasting Room, Best Food Program, Best Place to take a Tinder Date, Best Place to Drink in the Afternoon Without Judgment and Best Brewery to Bring the Kids.
Its second place wins were for: the Slated Black port in the Best Dark Ale category, the Sauvignon Blanc Wild Farmhouse Ale for the Best Farmhouse Ale category and the Best Branding Award.
Lastly, the brewery won bronze in the Most Dog-Friendly Brewery category.
