A motor vehicle accident involving a 44-year-old man from Fort St. James resulted in lane closures along highway 27 Monday, June 1.
The man was transported to University Hospital in Prince George from St. Johns Hospital in Vanderhoof, where as of Monday morning he remains in stable condition with serious injuries.
“It appears he was thrown from the vehicle and also appears alcohol was involved,” Commander Svend Nielsen said, adding the majority of the man’s injuries are in his torso.
The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m., Sunday, May 31 about one kilometre south of Barlow Road.
The highway was closed until 9 a.m. Monday morning to keep both lanes clear for Constable Dimaggio, traffic analysis inspector, to do his job safely, Nielsen said.
