Kimberley residents are invited to make the drive down to Cranbrook this Friday for one, or both, of two events.
NDP leader Adrian Dix will be in town for a fundraising evening at the Prestige Inn in Cranbrook.
There are two events: the first is the Leader’s Reception which is a small reception at $100 a ticket beginning at 5:30. This event is geared to business and community leaders with the guarantee that it will be small enough that every attendee will be able to speak directly with Dix.
The second event, at 7 p.m. is a larger social at which Dix will speak.
Tickets are available for $20, with a special student rate of $5. Tickets must be prepurchased.
Tickets are on sale at Lotus Books, or by calling Norma Blissett at 250 489 3408.
Blissett is the NDP candidate for Kootenay East.
“It is an honour to have Adrian Dix visit Cranbrook,” said Blissett. “We anticipate a lot of interest in this event so encourage people who want to meet Adrian to buy their tickets today.”
Columbia River Revelstoke MLA Norm Macdonald will also attend both events and he invites Kimberley residents to both.
Dix is not visiting Kimberley on this trip. He did visit prior to being chosen as NDP leader last year.
