The Agassiz-Harrison area saw another dip in COVID-19 cases as reports from the second week of April released on Thursday (April 15).
The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) reported five new cases of COVID-19 from April 4 to April 10. This is a significant drop from the previous week’s 14 cases, between March 28 and April 3.
So far in 2021, the Agassiz-Harrison area has experienced 114 cases of COVID-19 for an average of just over eight cases per week. From January 2020 to March 2021, the area has recorded 192 cases.

There is one active public exposure event in the area at Sasquatch Mountain Resort between April 4 and 5. Anyone on site after hours, attending any gatherings, staff ski day or staing in staff housing is asked to self-isolate. Those not on the list but still on site on April 4 and 5 must self-monitor. The event is considered low-risk and the ski resort is currently closed to the public.
There have been no school exposure events in the area since mid-January.
The Agassiz Agricultural Hall (6800 Pioneer Avenue) will host a vaccine clinic each Wednesday between April 7 and May 26, excluding May 12.
Eligible people may now book their vaccines online through www2.gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated or by calling 1-833-838-2323. As of Thursday, April 15, those aged 50 and older, Indigenous persons aged 18 and older and people who are clinically vulnerable may register for a vaccine appointment.

District of Kent officials reported the first two clinics (on April 1 and April 7) were successful with 350 receiving a dose each day.
