Port Alberni RCMP are on the hunt for a man who robbed the Petro Canada station on River Road Monday night.
Police responded to a hold-up alarm at the station at approximately 10:15 a.m., Cpl. Jen Allan said.
A man entered the store brandishing an undisclosed weapon and demanded money from the cashier. The clerk complied and gave up an undisclosed amount of cash then the man fled towards the Kitsuksis Dyke. No one was injured in the incident.
“This is the first armed robbery like this in Port Alberni in a very long time,” Allan said.
