Fraser-Nicola riding candidates will attend the All Candidates Meeting event at the Conference Room of the Hope and District Recreation Centre next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Those include the Liberal Party’s Jackie Tegart, the NDP’s Harry Lali, Green Party’s Art Green and Social Credit Party’s Michael Henshall. The event is organized by the Hope and District Chamber of Commerce
“Our purpose is to facilitate the democratic process,” said director Sharlene Harrison-Hinds. “We don’t have a party that we favour. We are paying for this to let people know who’s running — it’s your community, it’s your province.”
The moderator has been chosen as Canyon Cable and NAPA owner Ray Zervini, and all questions will come from the community.
“He’s a respected business member of the community and he was a councillor in Hope’s council,” said Harrison-Hinds.
Interested parties can submit their questions to info@hopechamber.net, or drop their questions off at the Chamber’s office located at 591J Wallace St. by Friday.
There will also be question forms at the door, but there will be no open mic on that evening.
“We’ll look at all of them and choose [three-to-five] questions, and it will be done by the board,” said Harrison-Hinds.
Light refreshments will be served.
