You may have noticed some orange fencing around area playgrounds.
The District of Kent has taken additional precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by closing further recreation facilities until further notice.
“The Ministry of Health has requested all British Columbians to keep a social and physical distance of two metres between yourself and others,” District staff said in a statement released Tuesday, March 24. “Effective immediately, until further notice, the following recreation facilities will be temporarily closed : all District of Kent playgrounds, sports fields, outdoor fitness equipment, basketball courts, Centennial Skate Park and the Aberdeen washrooms in Pioneer Park.”

The Community Recreation and Cultural Centre (CRCC) closed effective March 17.

If there are any general inquiries concerning these facilities and other recreation services, you can call the CRCC at 604-796-8891 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“We will resume the opening of all our facilities once the Ministry of Health advises it is safe to do so,” the statement concludes. “Thank you for your cooperation.”
