Another air quality advisory for Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver despite wet weather

High concentrations of fine particulate matter remain in region

Despite the rain and the cooler temperatures, Metro Vancouver has issued another air quality advisory.

The advisory is for the Metro Vancouver area and the Central Fraser Valley because high concentrations of fine particulate matter.

There is a continuing advisory for the Eastern Fraser Valley including Agassiz and Hope for the same reason.

Smoke from the wildfires has moved into all parts of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley and has resulted in elevated levels of fine particulate matter that has exceeded the overnight air quality objectives in the region.

Fine particulate matter refers to airborne solids or liquid droplets that are so small they can easily penetrate indoors.

People with chronic underlying medical conditions are being cautioned to postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted.

Exposure is especially a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
