Another shooting overnight in Surrey as bullets fly between two cars

SURREY — Police are looking for a gold car after police say it fired shots at another vehicle before – and after – it crashed into a post early Thursday morning in Surrey.

RCMP say the shots were fired at about 2:25 a.m. on 68th Avenue between 124th Street and 121st Street.

This is the 26th shooting in Surrey and Delta since the second week of March.

Witnesses told police a vehicle was stopped on 124th Street at 68th Avenue when a gold-coloured car pulled up next to it. One person was seen firing shots from the gold car at the first vehicle.

The targeted car drove off westbound on 68th Avenue followed by the gold car. The first vehicle lost control at the intersection of 68th Avenue and 121st Street, striking a post.  RCMP say the gold car pulled up behind the crashed car and shots were again fired at the car.

The driver of the first vehicle ran away from the crash scene and the gold car drove off.  No one was injured.

RCMP say the driver of the victim vehicle is a resident of Surrey in his 20s and is known to police.

Police are asking anyone that witnessed the incident, or has any information about the gold car, to call 604-599-0502.
