A Coldstream councillor would like some new faces representing the community regionally.
Following the mayor’s committee appointments, which look the same as last year’s, Coun. Maria Besso pushed for change.
“I’d like to express extreme disappointment in the fact that in the last five years we have not changed the appointments,” said Besso.
Mayor Jim Garlick pointed out: “Everyone is able to have a voice at GVAC.”
And while Besso attends many of the meetings, she says: “It’s not the same. I sat on my hands a lot.”
For 2014, the appointments are as follows:
Advisory Planning Commission – Pat Cochrane
Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce – Cochrane
Okanagan Regional Library Board – Besso
Regional District of North Okanagan – Doug Dirk
Greater Vernon Advisory Committee – Garlick and Gyula Kiss
Regional Growth Management Advisory Committee – Dirk
Agricultural Advisory Committee – McClean
Greater Vernon Parks Service Review Committee – Garlick
