The City of Cranbrook is closing the entire Aquatic Centre at Western Financial Place Friday, including the lane pool, as additional repairs are required for the wave pool and the hot tub.
Repairs were scheduled to begin Thursday, July 11.
The City made the the decision to close the whole facility “in order to best ensure public safety and the safety of staff,” Corporate Communications Officer Chris Zettel said in a press release Thursday.
“The closure will impact all remaining classes and lessons scheduled for this week.”
If all repairs are completed as planned, both the wave pool and the hot tub should be open for Monday, July 15.
The city will release additional update through the municipal website and social media channels if the timeline for the repairs changes.
