ATV incident claims life

Terrace RCMP today released details about a local man crushed between his vehicle and a tree.

The Terrace RCMP reported March 10 that a man from Thornhill died March 8 when he was using his quad to plow snow. The report is as follows:

“A 76-year-old man from Thornhill is deceased as a result of an ATV incident on Friday afternoon. Terrace RCMP were called to a residence on Dobbie St. on Saturday, March 8th shortly after 2 p.m. Investigation determined that a man was plowing snow in his driveway with his ATV over an embankment. The quad went over the embankment and flipped, pinning and crushing the man between the ATV and a tree. The man died instantly as a result of the injuries received.”

The investigation has been turned over to the provincial coroner’s office, continued the release.
