Vanderhoof’s local RCMP detachment lodged 91 files, which included 11 prisoners, in the past week.
Overnight theft trail
Twelve files of thefts from vehicles, or related items found, on Vanderview Drive, Einsphar Road, and Reid Drive were reported in the early morning hours of July 25.
Stolen items included wallets and loose change. Investigation continues with available information so far; a stolen credit card was used. Anyone with information can contact the local detachment or report through CrimeStoppers.
To help deter thieves, the police surges residents to lock their vehicles and keep valuables secured.
Saik’uz break-and-enter
Personal items were stolen from Holmes Drive on July 24.
No force was used to gain entry, and investigation continues with forensic evidence.
The theft is estimated to have taken place between 8:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., when the resident was away from home.
Drive away
Reported in the morning of July 21, a 2014 black Ford pickup truck was taken from Westline Ford overnight.
A screwdriver and broken glass was left at the scene. Investigation continues as the police reviews video surveillance from surrounding businesses.
Drink and drive
At a traffic stop on Burrard Avenue, a driver was found to be driving with alcohol above the legal limit on July 27. The individual is prohibited from driving for three days.
