As temporary supportive housing is constructed in Nanaimo, B.C. Housing is prepared to try to answer some of the public’s questions.
B.C. Housing is hosting an online question-and-answer session tonight, Nov. 22, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at www.LetsTalkHousingBC.ca.
The first small-group community dialogue sessions were held yesterday and continue Nov. 27-29, but are by registration only and B.C. Housing hasn’t publicized the locations of the sessions.
B.C. Housing is working with partners on temporary supportive projects on Terminal Avenue and Labieux Road. The Terminal Avenue project, called, Newcastle Place, will have about 80 units, to be operated by Island Crisis Care Society. The Labieux project, about 90 units, will be operated by Pacifica Housing.
Buildings have been going up at the Labieux site all week and a crane was at Terminal today placing the modular units there.
