Nanaimo’s MLA will continue to focus on marine environment protection after being named parliamentary secretary for environment by Premier John Horgan.
According to a press release, Horgan adjusted responsibilities of parliamentary secretaries for the B.C. Government and Sheila Malcolmson, who was named special advisor on marine debris protection in April, will continue working with George Heyman, B.C. environment minister, and will focus on “addressing marine-sourced plastic debris and making recommendations for provincial action on marine debris, including environmental threats caused by derelict vessels.”

In all, Horgan named eight parliamentary secretaries today.
