If one of your resolutions this year is to improve your health, the health fair, organized by the District of Mission and Fraser Health, is a good place to start.

The Back to Health … for Good event takes place on Jan. 11 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Leisure Centre. This year’s theme is balancing wellness.

“Up until now, we’ve focused on one area each time, like physical health or mental health,” said Tracey Takahashi, one of the organizers on the planning committee. “This year we’ve decided to incorporate everything.”

Balancing a person’s wellness includes physical, spiritual, mental, social and emotional health.

There are 41 exhibitors ready to help improve your health one way or another.

Come and learn about services available in the community, attend an interactive presentation, or try a new activity, encouraged Takahashi.

Last year’s event featured Olympic swimmer Brent Hayden as a keynote speaker, but this year there will be several featured presentations that have not yet been determined.

The fair is open to everyone and there is no charge for admission. Free activities throughout the day include a flu clinic, hearing screenings, and access to the swimming pool, ice rink, and weight room. The BC Winter Games committee will also be there to offer information about the upcoming event and register volunteers.
