Barriere RCMP Report
On Oct. 15, 2012, at 11:15 p.m. Barriere RCMP responded to a 911 call on Dunn Lake Road. The line was open and yelling and screaming could be heard along with sounds of things smashing. Members attended the residence locating the accused, a 34-year-old male, who was taken into custody. Investigation on scene revealed damage to the property and all three other occupants were assaulted. The male was taken to the Barriere Detachment where he was released the next day with a court date in November and numerous conditions of release.
On Oct. 17, at 07:50 a.m Barriere RCMP responded to a roll over motor vehicle collision on Barriere Lakes Road just before Leonie Creek Road. A red Ford F250 pulling a dual axle black box type trailer failed to negotiate the left hand curve going off road right. The truck rolled onto its roof while the trailer remained on its wheels, both nearly entering the creek. The scene was checked by the complainant, BC Ambulance attendants, and RCMP with no sign of a driver or occupants. The vehicles were both removed from the ditch area as there was fluid leaking from the truck and concerns of contaminating the creek. To date there has still been no report from the driver or registered owner. If anyone has any information on this collision please contact Cpl. Underhill at the Barriere RCMP Detachment.
On Oct. 19, at 22:36 p.m. Barriere RCMP responded to a call in Louis Creek where a female had made death threats to a male and damaged property. Patrols were made in the area with no success so the Kamloops Police Dog Services were called to assist and locate the female. Members made further patrols with the Police Service Dog locating the female hiding nearby. The female was taken into custody and released with a court date in late November on charges of Uttering Threats and two counts of Mischief.
It was a very busy Friday, Oct. 19, with 10 calls for service throughout the Detachment area. This had extra members called out for assistance through the night until 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.
At this time of the year Barriere RCMP Detachment is up 75 files from this time last year.
Barriere RCMP would like to remind all drivers to ensure their vehicles are ready for winter, such as good winter tires, windshield wipers and fluid, regular service and emergency kit in the event you get stuck in dangerous winter conditions. We are also entering the time of year when we will see the risk of frost, black ice and varied snow conditions at anytime. It is important to leave yourself plenty of time to get where you need to go and drive to the conditions so you are not in a hurry.
