BC Transit will be bussing to Hope to pick up ideas from residents.
They will host three sessions this Thursday and Friday.
On Nov. 24, they will be at District Hall from 5 to 7 p.m.
On Nov. 25, they will be at the Hope and District Recreation Centre from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., moving to Save-on-Foods from noon to 3 p.m.
They are also hosting an online survey. Visit bctransit.com/chilliwack/transit-future for the link.
The plan schedules four round trips between Hope and Agassiz from Monday to Saturday with two proposed schedules. The schedules have been designed to connect to route 11 trips travelling to Chilliwack.
“We’ve done some engagement on this, to date, so we know there’s a desire for this type of service in this area,” said communications manager Jonathon Dyck. “This is our chance to go out to the public in that area and see, and hear from them, what their ideas are and how best to improve transit service for their neighbourhood and the region.”
There are simultaneous engagements in Agassiz, Harrison and Chilliwack.
Dyck added that they will use information from the engagements to figure out a bus service for the area, and consult local governments for input.
Dyck said he cannot speculate on a timeline on when buses will start plying the roads.
