Be wary of loggers and trucks

Outdoor recreationalists are asked to be aware logging employees will be going full bore during the yuletide holidays.

Logging industry employees will be going full tilt during the holiday season, so snowmobilers and other winter recreation enthusiasts should be wary while driving on resource-extraction roads.

That is the message from South Cariboo Industrial Users Committee (SCIUC) member Michelle Schilling.

“Log companies and their contractors will be working during the holidays, and people will have to be careful where they park.

“Logging trucks and forestry workers will be on forestry roads and public roads. We just wanted the public to be aware of this and respect to the workers.”

Schilling says the SCIUC doesn’t know how many workers will be out in the bush and travelling on the roads, or where they will be working.

However, she adds people to be careful and considerate when they are out enjoying winter sports.
