Bethlehem returns

The Campbell River Baptist Church joined forces with other local churches to revive the popular recreation of Bethlehem

For the first time in five years, the Campbell River Baptist Church (CRBC) is taking us back in time to the city of Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago.

From Dec. 3-6 CRBC will be open from 6:30-9 p.m.. Everyone is welcome, however, there may be lines so it’s suggested you come in early.

There will be hot apple cider and a tent to keep those in line warm.

When asked why it had been so long since the last Bethlehem, Head Pastor Jeff Germo said, “It was mostly because of leadership transitions in the Church…this time other churches in Campbell River were given the chance to participate with us.

Thirty per cent of our volunteers are from other churches this year.”

Germo hasn’t had the opportunity to experience Bethlehem himself but he’s thrilled that the churches of Campbell River were able to help put this event on again.

Why should you come to Bethlehem? CRBC’s Youth Pastor, Steve Karadimas said, “there are many reasons to come to Bethlehem: to get in the Christmas Spirit, to learn something about the original Christmas and to get involved in a great event that our community is putting on. It’s also free!”

Whether you remember Bethlehem from your childhood or have never been, it’s bound to be an enjoyable and unique Christmas experience.
