The annual Brian Heppner Memorial Toy Run saw well over a dozen bikers and car enthusiasts turn out.
Bob Hicks, executive director for the 100 Mile House Food Bank, said after the ride it wasn’t quite as big of a turnout as they were hoping for, but that they were very happy with it.
“There’s been quite a few donations coming in,” but they weren’t sure yet how much was brought in in total at the time.
They’re happy to take anything people are willing to offer, he said.
“It’ll be a fair amount and it’s very good. The bikers here in the community really support us as well as the whole community does.”

He thanked Phil Doddridge who’s organized it for the last five years, adding that they appreciate it very much.
The run started in the A&W parking lot before making it out to the 108 and eventually back to the foodbank in 100 Mile House, where participants were greeted with hambugers and hot dogs.
“They really need our support, especially in ramping up to Christmas. That’s why we provide unwrapped toys for kids and they [the food bank] can donate as they make up hampers for Christmas,” said Doddridge ahead of the event. “There are a lot of younger adults that are in that kind of situation where they need some help. They’ve got a need for them at Christmas.”
