Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 137 calls for service from May 20th, 8 a.m. till May 24th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, 13 people were lodged in Terrace Cells – nine of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
A grey 2004 Ford Crown Victoria was vandalized with a sharp object while it was parked on the 4500 block of Lakelse Ave. during the night of May 19/20.
Police assisted Conservation Officer with a possible impaired driver. The 22-year-old driver failed the Standardized Field Sobriety test and was issued a driving suspension.
A white Mercury Grand Marquis was pulled over in a check stop. The 34-year-old driver was prohibited from driving. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A black GMC Sierra truck was pulled over near the Copper River on Hwy 16 for travelling 122 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone. The 28-year-old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded.
Break and enter to a business on Hwy 16 west. A TV was stolen from a travel trailer. Under investigation.
A boat dislodged from its trailer and struck a westbound vehicle on Hwy 16 west, landing in the middle of Kasiks Bridge and blocking both lanes of traffic. Under investigation.
Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a shoplifter. The thief left the store prior to police attendance. Under investigation.
ATV incident at the Hart Camp Ground. A person suffered a serious injury and was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital via BC Ambulance.
A black Chevrolet Colorado truck was pulled over on Lazelle Ave. The 37-year-old driver was a suspended driver. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The vehicle was impounded.
A black 2012 Subaru was pulled over in a check stop on Westside Rd. The 23-year-old driver provided a sample of breath that resulted in a warn. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.
Police assisted BC Ambulance with a youth who need to be assessed at the hospital after consuming too much alcohol.
Police observed four men snorting a drug in the back of a vehicle parked in the Hart Farms Recreational Area. All of the men were arrested. One of the men fled from police. The driver provided a sample of breath that resulted in a warn. He was served a driving suspension. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
A white 2016 GMC Sierra truck was pulled over in a check stop on Queensway Dr./Substation Rd. The 25-year-old driver provided samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A grey Mazda B4000 was pulled over in check stop on Queensway Dr. The 22-year-old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a reading. He had a class 7 driver’s license with a restriction of zero alcohol. He was issued a driving suspension and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
A black clutch style wallet containing various cards and ID was lost at Dollarama.
20 ft. aluminum plank scaffolding was stolen from a property on River Dr.
The rear window of a Chevrolet Equinox was smashed out while it was parked in the gravel lot at the base of Thornhill Mountain on May 22nd.
Police attended to Furlong Bay on three separate occasions to disperse intoxicated young people.
Police were called to a residence on Walsh Ave. for a second time due to fighting intoxicated youth. Police arrested a female youth. She became extremely combative and attempted to punch and kick the police officer. While the police officer was gaining control of the youth, a second female youth attempted to grab the police officer. Additional members were called to assist with the volatile situation.
Break and enter to a basement suite of a residence on the 2800 block of Sparks St. on May 23 sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Money was stolen.
Abandoned white Ford truck in the ditch on Hwy 16 near Gitaus. Police contacted the registered owner. The driver suffered minor injuries. The vehicle sustained major damage.
A black Nissan Sentra abandoned in the ditch on the West Kalum Forest Service Rd. Police spoke with the registered owner. No injuries. The vehicle was badly damaged.
A man lost control on his motorcycle on Crescent St./Old Lakelse Lake Dr. He suffered many injuries and the motorcycle was badly damaged.
A grey GMC Sierra truck was pulled over on Hwy 16 near Kenney St. The 60-year-old driver provided samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in warns. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.
Internet luring investigation.
A youth was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
