The District of Lake Country has downgraded a boil water notice back to a water quality advisory.
The notice had been initiated April 21 after a water main break at the corner of Pretty and Oceola roads.
“Recent testing and monitoring has shown water quality has improved and disinfection (chlorine) levels have recovered,” said Mike Mitchell, utility superintendent.
“Interior Health recommends that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice. For these at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits or vegetables, making juice or ice or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.”
