Bottle drive set to raise money for new hangar

Area cadets gear up to start furnishing their new home at the QB airport

Anyone looking for a way to lend a hand to the 893 Beaufort Squadron Air Cadets likely needs to search no farther than their own garage.

That’s because the cadets have scheduled a bottle drive in Qualicum Beach and Parksville for Nov. 24.

At the same time, the cadets will also collect donations of Canadian Tire money to put towards tools and necessities needed at their new home hangar at the Qualicum Beach airport.

Anyone who has donations they would like to have picked up should call Debbie at 250-757-9560 or e-mail 893fundraisign@gmail.com.

Donations of bottles and Canadian Tire money will also be accepted at the Parksville bottle depot on Nov. 24 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The 893 Beaufort Squadron will also plan to hold an Italian Dinner on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Bowser as another fundraiser.

Tickets will be available shortly at the Legions in Bowser, Qualicum Beach and Parksville for $15 per person.
