Bouchie Lake Fire Department responds to shed fire on Milburn Lake Road

The shed, which housed a wood stove, burned to the ground

A shed at a home on Milburn Lake Road burned to the ground this evening (Dec. 14).

The Bouchie Lake Fire Department responded to a call at around 4:45 p.m., with two trucks responding. An RCMP officer also responded to the call.

A small shed behind a home on Milburn Lake Road burned, with the flames melting the siding on the nearby house.

The occupants of the home evacuated as a precaution, and a woman, who rents the home with her family, said the shed held a woodstove, which they had lit keep their cats warm.

She said one of her children saw a big light outside, which alerted her to the fact the shed was on fire.

Firefighters at the scene were dousing the shed with water, and no significant damage appeared to be caused to the home.
