There have been COVID-19 exposures in at least 12 Chilliwack schools and one in Hope.
Parents at the schools in question received letters advising them of potential exposure risks late Sunday night. The letters do not include dates of exposure. That information will come from Fraser Health in the near future.
The general letters sent out advise students to “Please continue to attend school.” Only those believed to have a direct exposure to COVID-19 will be contacted by Fraser Health.
Concerned parents took to social media with questions and worries in the days following an exposure at a large Chilliwack dance studio. Capella Dance Academy had exposures on Oct. 21 and 22. The school has made the voluntary decision to close temporarily, but was not ordered to do so by Fraser Health.
The schools cited include 10 public schools, the local francophone school, a private school, and one in Hope, according to the site, BC School Covid Tracker:
• Ecole La Vérendrye
• G.W. Graham secondary
• Unsworth elementary
• Hope secondary

GW Graham has also paused its sports programs for at least one week as they decide how to move forward in a safe way for students and staff.
