The new Revelstoke roundabout is expected to be finished this coming Wednesday, Oct. 12, the city announced Friday.
“Permanent signage will be installed, a section of the curb near the underpass will be poured and the lot at First Street and Benson will be cleared next week,” wrote the city in its latest project bulletin, issued Friday at 4 p.m.
“The entire roundabout should be ready for traffic by Wednesday.”
Construction on the roundabout at Victoria Road and Wright Street began less than two months ago, on Monday, Aug. 15.
It is the first of the two-part Trans-Canada Highway intersection improvement project. Work will take place in the spring to modify the intersection at Victoria Road and Mutas Road (the McDonald’s/Tim Horton’s intersection) to block some left turning options and direct traffic through the roundabout.
The project is supposed to improve traffic flows and relieve congestion through highway the intersection.
