The CannaFest music festival begins today (Friday, Aug. 7) at James Donaldson Park in Grand Forks with the opening ceremonies on at 3:30 p.m. The first band to hit the stage will be Grand Forks’ own Mad Dog 20/20 at 4 p.m. Following Mad Dog is Colin Wiebe at 5:30 p.m. Hard rocker Lee Aaron hits the stage at 6:30 p.m. followed by Prism at 9 and Streetheart at 11.
On Saturday, the event starts again at 4 p.m. with Whiskey Throttle followed by Franklin’s Dealers at 5:30. Jerry Doucette hits the stage at 7 p.m. followed by Harlequin at 9. Harlequin replaces Lou Gramm, who had to cancel due to illness. The Headpins wrap the concert up at 11 p.m.
Mad Dog 20/20 got a chance for a little last minute tune up performing at the Cannafest pre-party on Thursday night at Station Pub. The pub was standing room only as many of the performers and fans as well as organizer Chuck Varabioff came out for an impromptu meet and greet.
