Summerland has gone through some recent changes in staffing, including staff changes at the municipality’s planning department, but it is still business as usual for those who need to take care of permits, applications and other services from the department.
“We will continue to process applications,” said Linda Tynan, chief administrative officer for the municipality of Summerland.
The director of development services resigned earlier this year, and more recently another planner in the department also left to take a job in Kelowna.
However, Tynan said a new director of development services has been hired and started her position on Monday.
Cory Gain has been working as the director of planning in Peachland, and before that, had been working for the city of Kelowna.
Tynan added that the staff changes at municipal hall and within the planning department should not be seen as symptoms of a problem within the municipality.
“There are always reasons why these things happen,” she said. “People come and go.”
