Residents are being asked to Show your Colours in the spirit of Canada Day.
The North Okanagan Canada Day Society and its family of sponsors is excited to announce the first Show your Colours contest, sponsored by the Atrium Hotel Vernon and Atlantis Waterslides.
Starting Wednesday, all North Okanagan residents are urged to decorate the exterior of their home or business using Canada’s official colours – red and white.
Entries are judged based on the use of iconic Canadian imagery and imagination.
“Flags are great but a moose on your lawn would be over the top,” said Johnny Canuck, on behalf of the society.
Photographs of entries can be sent to nocds.1867@gmail.com no later than June 30.
There will be one winner announced on June 18, 24 and 30, announced on KISS FM and on the North Okanagan Canada Day Society Facebook page (look for Johnny Canuck with the red maple leaf).
Prizes are provided by the Atrium Hotel Vernon and Atlantis Waterslides. The best business entry will be announced on stage at Polson Park on Canada Day. The winning business will be presented with a very Canadian trophy, donated by Five Star Awards of Vernon.
“Show your colours and celebrate,” said Canuck.
