Canadian Veterans of the Korean War participated on July 28, in a remembrance ceremony at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in the Republic of Korea.
The remembrance ceremony at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea (UNMCK) commemorated the 378 Canadian soldiers interred at the world’s only memorial cemetery of the UN.
The names of 21 missing Canadian soldiers are inscribed on the Commonwealth Monument, as well, the names of the 516 Canadian soldiers who died during the Korean War are written on the Wall of Remembrance at the UNMCK in Busan.
2013 is the Year of the Korean War Veteran—Canada proudly remembers the heroes of the Korean War and their brave fight to uphold freedom, democracy and the rule of law.
