Car accident caused power outage in Spallumcheen Monday

According to B.C. Hydro, 2915 people lost power in the area following a vehicle accident.

Over 2,900 people lost power Monday, Nov. 19 after a motor vehicle accident in Spallumcheen.

According to B.C. Hydro’s website, 2,915 people lost power in an area north of Commonage Road and west of Jackpine Road, affecting areas in Vernon, Armstrong, Spallumcheen and the Okanagan Indian Band.

It’s believed a motor-vehicle incident on Highway 97A near the Spallumcheen Industrial Park at 9:34 p.m. played a role in the outage, though authorities have yet to comment on the incident.
