A 77-year-old woman died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Applecross Road Monday evening.
The crash happened at about 8:45 p.m. when the woman, who was driving north on the 6500 block of Applecross Road, and her car collided with another car that was merging into traffic.

The victim was rushed to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, but later died.
Three occupants of the other vehicle were not injured and remained at the scene. Several pedestrians, who were in the area at the time, spoke with investigators.

The woman’s family has been notified of her death, but the victim’s name has not been released.
