The driver and passenger of a Honda Civic were shaken but not seriously injured after the vehicle they were travelling in jumped the curb and crashed into a tree on the Trans-Canada Highway in Ladysmith on Thursday afternoon.
The single motor vehicle collision occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway before Kitchener Street.
Ladysmith Fire Rescue and RCMP attended the scene as traffic was reduced to a single lane while motorists made their way past the accident scene.
The vehicle had extensive front end damage and needed to be towed from the scene about an hour after the crash.
Crews also removed the tree which had toppled onto the car.
