A 25-year-old Trail man is lucky to have walked away from a single-vehicle crash on Highway 3 east of Midway on Sunday, Nov. 8, according to Midway RCMP.
Cpl. Phil Peters said the man’s Toyota Camry hit a patch of black ice on a curved stretch approaching the intersection of Norwegian Creek Road shortly before 8:45 a.m. The Camry left the highway, hitting several trees on its way down a creek-side embankment.
Responding paramedics determined the man hadn’t sustained any serious injuries, but Peters said his car “is probably totalled.”
