A 51-year-old Kelowna woman was taken to hospital in Grand Forks after her car flipped into a Midway-area creek Friday morning, Oct. 30.
She was driving westbound on Highway 3, approaching the intersection of Norwegian Creek Road at around 8:15 a.m. when Midway RCMP said her car left the road.
The Honda Civic landed upside down in the shallow creek below.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was able to get herself out of the car.
“She’s very lucky to be alive today,” Cpl. Phil Peters told The Times.
Four off-duty firefighters from Midway Fire/Rescue happened to be driving through the area at the same time. Peters said a junior volunteer firefighter noticed the upturned vehicle and suggested that his dad, also with the department, pull over.
Fire Chief Walt Osellame said he then radioed the call to Midway RCMP, who attended the scene along with Midway paramedics.
Midway RCMP are still investigating what caused the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Police ruled out drugs and alcohol at the scene.
The Civic had snow tires, but Peters stated road conditions were not a contributing factor.
