Car hits hydro pole, slows down Highway 3

Highway 3 about 15 kms west of Keremeos down to one-lane alternating traffic

DriveBC is reporting both lanes are now open on Highway 3 between Hedley and Keremeos

Nicole Bogdanovic from FortisBC said about 250 customers in the area will experience an outage from approximately 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. this afternoon as crews work to fix the pole.

Bogdanovic said Fortis was called at about 10:30 a.m. and told the pole had been hit. Crews continue to asses and are making repairs at this time.

Highway 3 between Hedley and Keremeos is reduced to one-lane as FortisBC works to fix a hydro pole knocked down by a vehicle late morning Thursday.

Brianna Nendick who lives near where the collision occurred said that the driver of the silver car was taken away by ambulance.

The collision occurred about 15 kilometres west of Keremeos.

She said Fortis is on scene repairing the pole and RCMP are directing traffic.
