The Bethel Chapel Society permanently closed Cariboo Christian School today.
However, principal Pattie Baker says she has “no doubts” a new school will open in its wake very soon.
While confirmation won’t be made until later this week when she expects the paperwork to be completed, Baker notes the new 100 Mile Community Christian School Society is now in the process of finalizing details, including its temporary location and a new name.
There continues to be an “awesome involvement from the community,” helping to maintain the momentum toward reopening a Christian school, the principal adds.
This was evident at a meeting held Monday (Jan. 30) during which “thousands of dollars” in donations poured in from professional and business people.
Baker says the donors want to be a part of maintaining Christian education curriculum in 100 Mile House.
Baker notes the knowledge base and resources being provided by various individuals are also helping contribute to the parent-based society’s movement for a new school.
This includes a website, which is expected to be online soon, to keep people who are interested informed on its status as everything evolves.
More information will also be made available to the public by next week, she adds.
