Haisla Nation Council announced Wednesday (Jan. 13) that there are five known cases of COVID-19 in Kitamaat Village at this time.
Haisla Nation Council (HNC) has decided to follow a recommendation by their Pandemic Team to keep offices closed and staff working from home, as well as keeping the Haisla Community School closed until Feb. 5. This is another continuation of the orders first put in place prior to the winter break.

The Haisla Health Centre is also preparing for the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine for Kitamaat Village, which is expected to arrive in the community sometime in January.
The first round of vaccines will be available to Haisla members 65-years-of-age and older who are living in Kitamaat Village.
HNC said eligible members can call in now to the Haisla Health Centre to be put on the list for when the vaccine is ready and available. For more information, visit the HNC website.
