A confirmed case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in School District 69 (Qualicum).
The district issued a release on Sunday, Jan. 24, saying the case was an individual at PASS/Woodwinds (140 Renz Rd. in Parksville), with a last date of attendance of Jan. 22.
Island Health staff have initiated contact tracing to identify individuals needing to self-isolate or self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. All contact tracing is expected to be concluded by the end of day Jan. 24, and all members of the PASS/Woodwinds community will have received direct communication from the school.
Other non-school users of the Winchelsea facility will be contacted as well, with Island Health confirming that unless they were directly engaged with students in the school they are considered at low risk.
