Castlegar held its first Skate Party on Friday night at the Kinnaird outdoor rinks and close to 100 people came out and had fun. The event featured skating on both outdoor rinks, bonfires, free hot dogs and hot chocolate, as well as fireworks.
“By all accounts Castlegar’s first annual Community Outdoor Skate night was an outstanding success,” said councillor Kevin Chernoff. “Great to see so many young families having a fun night out. They think it’s fun for them but I think we on Council have just as much fun putting this event on. Great Job by public works getting the ice ready and a special thanks to Gary Sauer for all his extra work in making sure this is a top notch ice rink. This is why we call Castlegar home.”
